One thing I find helps somewhat is when something, be it a book, poem, piece of music, picture or whatever describes what I feel. It makes me feel I am not alone, in the words of the fabulous Hector in the History Boys ;
“The best moments in reading are when you come across something – a thought, a feeling, a way of looking at things – that you’d thought special, particular to you. And here it is, set down by someone else, a person you’ve never met, maybe even someone long dead. And it’s as if a hand has come out, and taken yours.”
Apparently based on Camus’s ‘The Plague’ (on my to read list) this song is one of those moments. I listen to this far too often with my uncomfortable needing to be replaced ipod headphones digging in as I try to sleep.
